Last year i had planned to go for a visit at the zoo, but as the nice days i couldn’t go lack of a vehicle, and the days i had the van, it was raining. So this year, i wanted to clear this road trip off the to do list sooner then later and we did this week, the day was nice and warm and we mannaged to see mostly everything from opening till noon. we then cooled down in the souvenir boutique before going for lunch. got a few fuzzy animal pencils, an elephant purse, a zebra bookmark, 2 whale piggy banks and a little shinny stufft lizzard that we’ll keep for Owen’s birthday next month.
after lunch, i felt that we might as well get the animal feed before to head home. we got a starter bag of chicken feed and 5 kg of rabbit feed, a water dispenser and a feeder tray for the chicken. now all is left is to build the cages and we’ll be ready for our first farm animals.
today, i started cutting panneling to make the walls on my sauna. put a 2×4 down to suport the first pannel and only after nailing 4 to 6 of them did i realise that there was piece of a toy stuck under my 2×4 and everything was nailed on a slant. gaaaaah! so i unnailed it off and put one board back on straight before going to help my mother that just arrived to work in the garden.
we looked for last year’s poles we used to prop our string beans and peas, couldn’t find them so had to harvest some new ones. spent the afternoon trying to build something to hold our pole beans. took some time before we mannaged to get it solid enough that we could let go of it. and to add to that challenge, there was my 5 years old walking across the garden, wanting to pluck stuff, cut stuff with branch cutters, cut stuff with scisor while i was trying to tie leads from the branch structure to some improvised tent pegs. the 3 years old not leaving the dog alone. i could go on and on… look like the sand box lost its apeal already.
we also ran out of raw hide chew bones and what not, so our dog is scavenging across the house and pick what ever he can find to bring back to his corner… clogs, sandals, stuffed animals, the therapist’s funky flippy ball she must have forgotten and more.
i just feel like hanging on a branch upside down pulling my hairs, scratching my arm pits, beating my chest while screaming and then maybe chew on a banana… still hanging
*Hugs*
